Waterloo Region offers community housing, also known as subsidized housing. Rental fees for community housing are lower than market rents because they are matched to your income.

If you cannot find a place to rent for less than 30 percent of your monthly family income, you may qualify for community housing. The Region of Waterloo's Community Housing Access Centre (CHAC) keeps a waiting list for community housing in Waterloo Region. You must apply to find out if you qualify - if you do, you will be placed on the waiting list for a unit to be available. You can contact CHAC to find out if you qualify.
